    Rush.

    The Guess Who.

    Barenaked Ladies.

If only Americans liked the hip as Canadians do it would be worthy. But I think the appeal of "best band" should include outside of Canada.

For me? Hmmm. You may have to do it by decade. :P

Why is it that when you go into a store and look at band merchandise, you find that the mediocre bands have about 50 different t-shirt designs, wallets, hats, jackets and undies; but the band that you actually enjoy listening to has nothing but a CD?

That's because 14 year old girls have a lot of money to spend on crappy wallets, jackets, hats and undies.

Iced Earth has been rockin' out for over 10 years. Their progressive sound has been regarded as the classic structure for American heavy metal. However, sometimes a band has to exercise their shiznit and release a tribute album. As tribute albums go, this is pretty standard fare. Iced Earth manages to strum its way through Blue Öyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Iron Maiden and other covers without a hitch. Barlow is a skilled vocalist backed by a great band, but he's on autopilot, here. I would personally skip this CD and either buy the original material or get my hands on the immensely well made Alive In Athens 3 disk Iced Earth set.
    Uhm...no.

Sorry but 9 of the 11 songs on that CD are SUPERIOR to the originals. The other two being "Hallowed be thy name" and "Highway to hell".
