    Question Chain size

I want to change my sprockets and chain. On one side of the chain it says Japan on every link. The other side it says 01d 5v8. Is this the size of the chain or should I keep spining till I find a special link?

Anything else I should know before changing the sprockets and chain?

Look at your chain again. I'm guessing the "01d" might actually be "DID", which is a popular brand. It is probably a 530 sized chain on your bike.

Pick any link and grind the riveted over pins off down flush or just below the side plate. Punch 'em through with a small pin drift to remove.
A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
