I got a NEC Versa LX that's died on me. The hard drive went on it so I replaced that and it still ain't working. What's happening is that when you start it up it tries to go but it comes up with this command:
"NTLDR is missing, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart"
It won't even let me install Win XP. It formats the drive fine but when you try to type "dir" in Dos mode it won't show what's on the drive and gives some other error. The laptop has been laying in my closet for the last 2 years. Just recently I tried to get it going but it didn't work.
Any idea what it could be or what I could try to fix this?
