I own a 1988 Honda CBR 600 (F1). I suspect that my clutch may be going south, its not a big problem (at all) at this point, but I am noticing some inconsistency with wheelie's and slight clutch slippage (sometimes) when shifting quickly at higher RPM. My question is, if I choose to replace the clutch, what are my options? Are there aftermarket clutch kits available for my bike, or do I just stick with factory components (usually more expensive)?
How involved is a clutch replacement should I choose to undertake the task myself? From what I can see, I need to remove the plastic, and clutch cover, and then replace the plates and springs, throw on a new gasket and put 'er back together. Would there be a need to remove the engine, or does what I describe above seem accurate?
Any tips or links to places I can buy the required parts from would be greatly appreciated.
