I’ve recently moved into a new position at work, and was looking for some free advice from anyone else that may be doing a similar job, and may offer some inside tips.
I am now doing purchasing for a few different departments of the company including the electronics department. I have many years experience doing purchasing and inventory management for many different types of parts, but this is the first time that I have had to purchase a large and diverse quantity of electronic components.
Stuff like capacitors, resistors, enclosures, crystals, displays, LED, buttons, conductors, transducers, etc, etc, etc…
We have a supplier list for our current products, but part of the reason I moved into this area was to help improve efficiency and drop production costs down. This also means finding sharp prices and good stock from reliable suppliers on the components we use.
Does anyone else out there do bulk electronics parts purchasing? Who do you get good deals & good service from?
