Hi everyone! New to this forum and really excited to have found it. After browsing around a bit in the threads, seems like a bunch of great people (maybe a little insane, but then again, most riders have to be i guess -- I've definately been called nuts at work for riding in in the winter .. hehe).
OK, here's my question... I'm looking to buy a Honda CBR600 F4i. It's got 4775 miles, it's a 2001. The chain is kinda rusted and would need to be replaced but the sprocket seems fine. There's a small crack just under the seat (the plastic is thin) but that doesn't seem to compromise anything. There's about 70% of tread left on the tires... Guy is selling it cuz he has no time to ride and he's got 2 kids. Anyway, I'm thinking of offering $4,500 for it. Is that a good deal? I've looked up the Kelly and Nada prices on it and it seems to be reasonable. Kelly and Nada list them at average of $5,150.
I'm not sure how much it would be to replace the chain. Oh, and it does have a micron exhaust. That's the only mod.
I currently don't have a sportbike. This would be my first. I think I'll post more about myself in the women's forum but in general, I'm a shorty -- 5'2.5" (yes, the half inch DOES count!!) I've been riding cruisers mostly -- started on a 250, I now ride a Honda Magna 750. One heavy bike, but I love her. I've sat on the F4i and I can reach the ground -- not quite flat footed, but enough. But that's why I've chosen that bike (because it fits). Been riding for about 4 years... I love it. I'm so addicted... In fact, if a guy doesn't ride, I won't date him. Is that shallow? I don't care....
