I just replaced my timing belt after it recently snapped on my ascent up a hill. I just got it back on the road today, and I've noticed that when I push the throttle further in, I get a more throaty LOUD deep hum that I never got pre-replacement. I don't know what blow-by sounds like, but...possibility? A valve stuck open maybe?
I also get a rattling sound at lower RPM's...Are my valves fucked? Is replacing the valves worth it? Does anyone know, or can anyone find out if a 1986 Toyota Tercel FWD wagon 1.8L has a zero clearance engine?
The car runs better than before; however, the power turns to slush sometimes...I just can't understand what's up with it! The power isn't smooth in deliverance.
Does anyone know where I can find good parts and labor at a student friendly price?
I'm looking to replace the CV shafts and water pump eventually. I know this car isn't worth it, dont bastardise! But it's been good to me and I'd like to keep it for my winter season wheels when I get the coin for a bike.
