I decided to do some mods to my stock can. First of all I wanted a different sound so I used a hole saw and cut around the pipe at the end of the can. I then cut the pipe off and drove the rest in into the can and flaring it. It now sounds alot like a yosh can. This mod stock can needed to be dressed up to match with the sound. I painted the can with metal cast paint fading from the back of the can to the front. The picture doesn't show the fading as well as it is. I like how it turned out.
Ok I have had a few pm on how I made the sound mod. So I added a pic of the end of the can. In detail what I did in this procedure is remove the chrome end cap of the can, on the gsxr it has 3 bolts that hold this on, I then cut a piece of the pipe off so I could use the 2" hole saw. The reason I used a 2" bit because it is slightly larger than the pipe that exits from the can. I really wanted to pull this pipe out after it was cut with the hole saw. I found that it would not come out. I then changed the plan and drove the pipe into the can with a block of wood and hammer. Once I drove it into the can about a .5 " I then took the end of a large ball pin hammer and pounded it to give the pipe a flared look. I then reinstalled the can to hear the sound and it was exactly what I was looking for.
