Well I know everyone has had some close calls on their bikes, but my first day was already my first lesson on cagers lack of vision for motorcycles.
I am comin through ridge/meadows on loughheed, in the left lane, when depends diaper wearing granny in her big ford LTD, wearing terminator sunglasses decides to change in my lane with no shoulder check or mirror check. I just rolled off the throttle and braked slightly. If i hadnt payed attention, she would have side swiped me thus ending my riding season, carreer, or life. I leaned on the horn for a good 10 seconds, and the old hag never even turned her head for a moment. I have already put to use the skills I have learnewd through cyclelogics!
I feel so hypersensitive to everything thats going on around me now, sitting at a stoplight, I dont go into stoplight coma mode. I actually pay attention to traffic flow, light changes, people in front, beside, and behind, and the people on cell phones (stupid fuckers).
I still had a great day just being out there though.
