I for one support the GLP, however I think the age guidlines and rules should be mod'd a little. I like the fact that a 16 year old, cant have a full licence right away. How can we honestly expect a 16y/o to be responsible and MATURE enough to drive without restrictions? I would be in favor of shorter wait times and restrictions for people over the AOM (age of majority) in BC which is 19, AOM is 18 at a federal level. If you have a licence, and decide you want another lic. your not under the GLP guidelines, its old school rules. I dont think one should have to take the "written test" of a L lic. if they already have a valid DL. Being as how THE QUESTIONS are all THE SAME! except the lane postion and blind spot questions, all the otheres involved are already ask in a class 5L or whatever u call it under the GLP.
For you young'ns that are gonna flame this, think about this first. The argument will come up eventually that "not all of us are imature and irresponsible." Yes you are very right, neither are adults, however that argument isnt valid when asking for a loan. Sigh welcome to the "Real World" where respect and privileges are earned, not given. When you first start working on your ever so important CREDIT RATING, your in the same boat. Your gonna have to PROVE yourself. And it'll never stop, your always gonna have to prove yourself when undertaking new responsibilities, you think its tough for ya now living under Ma & Pa's wings? Wait till ya leave the nest, if you havent already.
So, ya, I support the GLP! 100% Whats your thoughts on it? Where do you think it could be improved to better help or be more "fair" with our new drivers/riders?
