The exact reason for that was due to the excessive number of fires if I recall.
Ahh good old Richmond, I once watched someone pour fuel injector cleaner into the crankcase of their mercedes.
The above photo is not from Richmond BTW. Richmond is flat as a board (and yet people still find ways to get stuck in the snow there).
I am never surprised at the stupidity of drivers here on our little island.
Personally, I hate the lack of self-serve gas stations. I know some people who live here are, in fact, too stupid to pump their own damn gas, but some of us aren't, so give us a choice. I hate waiting in my car for the pump-jockey to eventually make his way over to mine, only so I can wait longer for them to get back to me after the tank is full.
I even had some guy so insistent on serving me, that he held the nozzle for me IN MY BIKE'S TANK, even after I told him repeatedly "Dont worry, I got it." Usually the attendant understands that bikers typically know how to fill their own tank and dont want anyone else touching their bikes, but this guy seemed pretty adamant about helping me out.

I watched an elderly chinese couple wash they're corrola with the windshield washer at chevron. funniest 10 minute hand car wash I've ever seen. THis was in east van tho, but watching them pull away with windshield washer fluid all over the door panels was priceless....the funniest part. The man supervised the old lady while she washed the car, the old man wouldn't touch the stuff. I wish someone was there to watch with me.
anyone wanna lend me a bike ?
you've got to wonder who the stupid really are, here. could it be that due to all the gas'n'go's that happen 'round that slummy area have anything to do with why the gas attendants are on you like white on rice on a paper plate in a snowstorm?

Hehe back when I was working at a gas station, I usually try to top off their gas tank to an even dollar amount. This one lady was staring at me like I was doing something bad and asked "what are you doing?". Hell, some people can't even pump their own gas for god's sake.
I was at Chevron on Hwy 10 (on my bike) and had just finished fillin. When I watched this lady with a Mercedes S55 AMG and she couldn't figure out how to fill her car if her life depended on it! I had to go over and do it for her. Turned out she was from Richmond and didn't usually fill off island. She mentioned she had a large fear of driving through the tunnel or on bridges so it was rare for her to come out this far
THAT is fucking priceless.Originally Posted by boarder

Sparring speed is a matter of simple physics:
The height of your flight is inversely proportionate to the mass of your ass.
Ahhh....Richmond the land of the white driving gloves. What's up with that? some of these ppl driving their cars are HUGE germaphobes in the world. They won't even touch their keys to their Mercedes (spottless btw) without gloves on.
A bad day of riding is, still better than a good day of work.
Man, there's alot of Asian haters on this thread. You bunch of nazi bastards
didn't think it mattered what ethinicity the driver was but in my post she was caucasianOriginally Posted by 5thgear

I have only filled up in Richmond once and it will never happen again.
Too nerve racking to watch someone else do it.
just do it yourself. it's not like they get mad at you
Twice in the past year I've been hit in a parking lot in Richmond. The most recent one was yesterday! The first time, I watched a botched parking job, right into my car. Yesterday, the person made the turn too wide and blamo, another hit. Both times hit by caucasion people.

Try driving a bus all day long in Richmond!! Its not fun most drivers aren't scared of a big bus comming at them.
