Ok so here's the deal:
I've got a '96 YZF750 project. Since it's apart, I was thinking of replacing the old school looking gauges with something else.
I'm guessing the 98-99 R1's have cable driven tachs. Is it possible that you could slap the R1 gauge cluster on another bike that's also cable driven and have it work accurately?
If this is possible, how would you go about getting an accurate reading for your speed? Especially if you're using sprockets? Since it's cable driven, you can't use a speedohealer... are there any other options?
Or if anyone else has any other ideas, feel free to post away!
Thanks in advance for any info
