ouch! I guess they are saying that the back alley is still considered a public road. Now if it's your driveway, then that's a different story.

Well the fact is that the bike did not have insurance and was unlicenced and you probably did not have a helmet on,so you are hooped except you can contest the fine but not the offence, you will plead guilty to the offence but ask the judge for a lower fine! Most j.p will ask what you can afford so have a price in mind and don't be silly about the price (1/2 seems to be reasonable)!good luck!

holly shit, all that for a pocket bike. first of all i would take pictures of you riding the bike and show the judge its not a real bike cause in court it will seem like you were riding a motor vehicle which the bike is not.
second of all the no helmet thing is definetly gong to stick so i recomend you dispute (within 30 days) and plead guilty only to riding without a helmet and not guilty to the rest.
post up the exact mva's and mvr'r (motor-vehicle-acts and motor-vehicle-regulationgs) and the amounts. I think the helmet one is a 86-1, and so on, and mabye i could come up with something good along the boundaries of the law to help you out further

I would try to argue that you were playing with a childs ride on toy.

So do you suppose, if it was your five year old kid, riding the pocket bike in the back alley, would you get a ticket?

Wearing a helmet would be an admission that you're riding a motorcycle. I would deny that its a motor vehicle, and insist that its a childs ride on toy.

Its got no Vehicle Identification Number, so it can't be a vehicle.

    Good luck
