So I rented an SV650 for a day this long weekend. Pretty fun, never really testing any limits, just some casual riding with a bit of ripping. So I noticed a few times, when i had to gear down quite quickly due to a car turning left in front of me or other things of the sort the back tire tended to lock up. I was in total control 100% of the time but i could feel it locking a little bit and one time the back tire actually started sliding out to the side. I did not have too much preasure on the back brake and little to none on the front. Just blipping the throttle and gearing down quickly and not at any crazy high rpm's or anything.
My question is, is this quite usual....how does the back tire usually lock up...too much brake...gearing down etc. Is it common with this bike or with all bikes.
I thought it was quite interesting....not scary at all in full control....but what if i was at really high speeds and this happened...could be a different story
