That's sad, good thing we don't live in America. Now I understand why they would want to move up here instead.
The ending is priceless.
Just goes to show... Look like you know what you're doing, look like you're supposed to be doing what you're doing, ignore people who look at you while you're doing it, and you can get away with anything.
oh, and Hyside: i'd bet you a beer that the results would be exactly the same if you tried that downtown.

Damn right, cuz we Canucks put the fear of God into thieves, eh? Americans are too timid to do anything ... buncha sissies!!! (at least, when they're not being bullies). It's kinda confusing if you think about it, so I try not to.Originally Posted by Hy_side
I was gonna post a reply, but I have to go out and get my new mountain bike. Now where did I leave those bolt-cutters?
What was it all about?
Maybe you didn't read the thread about the volvo that got caught with a crying 16 yr old kid in it. People do at least call.Originally Posted by Spike
Yeah, apparently Americans (Typical New Yorkers) seem to only care about themselves and never try to help each other out. I remember in the movie Collateral, where one time Tom says something about someone dead on a train for 3 hours before anyone took notice or somethiing, if something like this came up there I would totally believe it.Originally Posted by dog44
Oh that angle grinder portion of the video was fuckin' hilarious, and the guy took 6 minutes to saw through the chain... Man, if they tried that shit here they would risk getting their asses beaten down...
Don't be so sure everything is better here. I bet someone's already stole something in broad daylight this morning and know one noticed or thought to call it in.

And what happens if someone does see it happening, what are they going to do... nothing.. and what if they do call the cops? By the time the dispatcher gets it, creates a file, prioritizes it, and then actaully dispatches it to a cop, you will be long gone......
i love the part where the cop drives by, ignores the bike thief, and tells the camera man to get off the street, priceless
personally, especially in vancouver if i saw a guy w/ full camera getup filming some dude doing something i'd be less interested in intervening as it could be some ghetto film company or something along those lines.
how many thieves film themselves? well, maybe some but it's not smart to create proof of yourself committing a crime.
anyways, ya, someone shoulda stepped in. i guess that's why they tell people to yell fire instead of help now so people actually care about whats goin on
A guy I was working with told me he saw a guy ripping off a motorcycle downtown. The guy spraybombed the bike a different color, punched the lock and road off. I asked him why he didn't do anything or call the cops. He said it was too much trouble and nothing would happen to the guy anyway.

Yeah I guess the cameraman was definitely an element... I think they should've hid the camera somewhere instead, who the hell has a cameraman recording them while they steal a bike? But the first part where that girl smokes, she didn't even notice the camera so she has no excuse.Originally Posted by Lyzic
