I had a bit of a sticky situation this morning.
On the way to work, i aproached an intersection too fast, the light changed yellow, the guy in the lane beside me decided to brake hard& stop, so I decided I should stop as well, espetially that there was a vehicle waiting to turn left on the intersection, I was afraid they may not see me and turn right onto me.
So I braked hard, my rear wheel lost grip and I wasn't able to stop before entering the intersection. I cautiously went through, traffic waited for me patiently, and I just kept on riding.
I was thinking about what happened, and realised that I propably overused the rear brake and underused the fron one.
...also I was going too fast on slicky & slippery road like a dumbass, but that's another story.
So I'd like to find out more about how YOU use your brakes?
How much front, how much back and so forth.
