I just wanted to tell you a little about myself. I am a youth worker/Child and Youth counseller. I work for a non-profit organization called DEYAS (Downtown Eastside Youth Activities Society). We have, like all goverment funded programs are facing finacial strains. I have been thinking of many ways to raise money to help our programs out and had 2 ideas that I would like your feedback on:
1) A charity barbeque, at a pre-determined place ie: Britannia beach. Where riders from BCSB could meet up there for a BBQ, a little fun in the sun. Of course a donation in any amount you can afford would be much appreciated.
2) BCSB shirts: a Flashy cool t-shirt, or long sleeved shirt, or hat, sold with partial prceeds to DEYAS. (I have a friend with a screen printing buisness who would be willing to help out). This would of course be up to the BCSB "Gods".
I know there may even be other ways to combine the passion I have for motorcycling, and the sportbike community, with my other passion of serving our youth in the community.
What do you think guys and gals?
I posted this up in the events section, but no replies....hoping it was just that no one saw it.
