I don't post much, but I thought this should be shared with the biking community. Last night, I got a call from a guy who said he was interested in seeing my bike. (I was trying to sell it) So he came over and I started showing him the bike. I thought it was kinda weird because he showed up without a car or anything, but I figured he might just be living nearby so he walked.
Anyways, I was telling him about the bike, and he was telling me about how he really needed a mode of transportation because someone just stole his Acura. He feeding me all this crap about how he's been riding for a long time and all that. So I start the bike, and he hops on, not a big deal right? Well he puts on his helmet and asks me if he can take it for a ride.
I said, no I'd rather you didn't. I didn't have insurance on it, and plus I'd rather not have someone I don't know ride my bike. So he keeps talking some more and just takes off on my bike. So now I'm standing there watching some stranger ride off with my most prized possession that I had to work my ass off to buy. I thought getting my bike stolen or vandalised would be the most painful experience, but that's gotta pale in comparison to seeing some thief ride off with my bike right in front of eyes.
So this is a warning to everyone to be really careful. Never know what's going to happen.
My bike's a blue/white Gixxer. 97, no decals. If anyone sees it, I'd appreciate it if I can get it back. Especially cause it wasn't insured. Just on the one in million chance that someone might be able to help me get my bike back... The guy that stole it is about 6'3", mid to late 20s, medium build, caucasian with short brown hair and short beard.
