In most lives, the pinnacle of one’s self comes with the acknowledgment of exceptional work. Awards and titles were created to help perpetuate that rationale. They are an effective method of immortalizing a person in the world. Upon hearing news that the people have elected me as Moderator. . . I felt weak with humility. All I can say is thank you, oh thank you! I’m so awash with emotion I can hardly conjugate verbs.
But I digress. I’ve just received written documentation stating that I may already have won $10 million. Be this the case you’ll receive only partially coherent thoughts posted between my masticating generous helpings of gelato, and strafing the apex of every twisty road in Europe.
If I in fact have not won $10 million (a seemingly unlikely reality given the notification I’ve just read) I’d again like to say thank you to the esteemed members of BCSB, who each look deep within their lint-encrusted navels before writing posts. And to the people under the stairs, who taught me to take life by the day. And finally, to all the senior moderators I had to sleep with - I couldn't have done it without you!
