Quick question for you mechanical types...
This might be a stupid question, I don't know...but here goes:
Are braking parts pretty much interchangeable?
In particular, I want to know if I can use pretty much any of the sm rotors that are out there to go with my Braking caliper.
I bought a 4-pot Braking caliper, used from some guy on SMJ. I'm planning on mating it with a TRX m/c, as a lot of people that have gone that route seem to be very happy with it (for the price). And I was just going to get a s/s line made from Imperial or something...but I'm curious as to what I should do with the rotor.
Do I need to use a Braking rotor to get the best results, with respect to both fit and performance? It's mainly fit that I'm worried about.
The reason I ask is because the Braking rotors seem to be going for around $300 USD. But, for example, a Motomaster Flame Supermoto Race Rotor is only about $259 USD. As well, I'm sure there are some other less expensive options out there, that I haven't discovered yet. (calling on vreck...)
Anyways, you guys got any input???
