    Private Insurance

I've asked around and have come to find that most bigwig private insurance places will only take you on if you have 10+ years of riding/driving. Is there an alternative for someone that's been driving for 4-5 years? I've had my class 5 since 2002 but have only had my class 6 since 2004. Any suggestions? And what are the benefits from private insurance - I am aware that you have the chance to insure all your gear, as well as its somewhat cheaper.
Good friends will bail you out of jail, BEST friends are the ones sitting in the cell next to you saying, "Dude that was fucking awesome!"

No. There are no other alternatives. You can wait a couple more years and Coast Capital will insure you I believe. I think they require 3 years on a bike but may need more Class 5 experience than you have.
Private = cheaper optional insurance rates and coverage rates
ICBC = they'll insure anyone, even you
