Having been hit by a leaf spring on the Second Narrows a few years back, I thought i'd post about todays flying objects.
Seated in my cage and following a landscaping truck (1 ton flatdeck) I felt the wind picking up and noticed the wide selection of tools starting to spin around on their (secure?) brackets. The memories of the leaf spring immediatly come to mind, when the first rake takes flight. It launched up about 10 feet or so, twirling, swapping ends, and 1 lane for that matter, before coming down and breaking apart. Aren't I the lucky one I muse, when rake #2 catapault's off of the truck, this time it came at me. I swerved and avoided contact, but it was a narrow escape.
Yes everyone is extra alert around trucks already, but there is no harm in harping on about it until everyone wants to choke you to death.
