I was riding home around 7:00 on Thursday. Midway along Hastings, I stop at a light, and a red CBR 600 pulls right up beside me on my left. I look over, give him a nod, and he does likewise, then ignores me for the rest of the light. As the light changes, he pulls away ahead of me, popping a couple small wheelies as he went. I know some people would have thought it was rude for someone to pass you in your own lane, even though your at a light, but I didn't mind.
A few seconds later, I hear a thunderous roar behind me, and catch a glimpse of two Harleys barrelling up the road, (passing people in the oncoming traffic lane?). A couple seconds later, they flew past me in the right hand lane, then just about got taken out by a bus pulling out, but managed to get out of the way in the nick of time. They raced in and out of the honking cars till they disappeared out of sight. I couldn't help but notice a certain logo on the back of one of them.
A block later, I stop at a light and see an R6 across the street. We nod at each other, then he does a huge smoke show for his buddy in the car beside him. I wish I had that kind of money to burn.
Another block later I see a Harley and a corvette racing each other in the oncoming lanes. I'm not sure who the winner of that race was.
All of this happened within 5 blocks! I guess riding a few km over posted once in a while makes me seem pretty tame by comparison.
Well, I'm off home now. Let's see what tonight brings.
