When you see a bike parked perpendicular to the sidewalk right in front of a parking meter are they safe from the parking pigs? Is this a grey area or is there a clear-cut rule?
LOL nobody is safe from parking pigs

If you are parked in front of a meter and there is no vehicle occupying the space then you could be on the hook for a ticket. The safe thing to do is put a quarter or a loonie in the meter and take the spot it beats paying a $25 fine!!!
Take the whole spot. Cagers are getting bikes towed so until they smarten up and let us park where ever (freeing up more parking for them) take up the whole spot. Maybe if we all did this they would change the parking rules to make more room for everybody.
Gee if we got a couple hundred bikes to nap every open meter they could on a weekday people would see what a waste of parking spots it is. Trouble is us riders are a poor bunch and couldn't afford the cost of the meters. LOL
I totally agree with you there Tigon; I was just curious because I see a lot of this going on. Sometimes 2 bikes parked in front of the meter.
