It probably is my fault, because moments before it all went to shit I had just told someone how great my bike has been running and I haven't had a problem in over two years and nearly 35,000 kilometres of riding.
Riding along fine and dandy, when all of a sudden, the instruments go dead and engine dies. I pull over turn it off, turn it on and it works fine. Motor starts and everything's honky-dory.
A few hundred feet later, same deal. I pull over, check the battery connections, see nothing obviously out, put the seat back on and high-tail it home because I have a sense of dread I'm gonna get stranded, which I did.
Heading east bound on Hwy. 1 just before the New West exit, bike dies totally. No instruments, no motor turning.
However, I'm at speed and start to gear down. The motor catches, but doesn't run.
Long story short, I wind up getting back to Mission in the cab of some horrendously loud tow truck, listening to some French Manitoban for over an hour.
Bike is completely dead. No nothing.
Someone suggested the rectifier could be fried.
Any other suggestions?
