I am just getting back into riding ... so I went out to practice my skillz tonite. I went out near the Pitt Meadows airport. The roads leading there are a series of straight farm roads connected with 90 degree turns.
It was a perfect place to practice my cornering, shifting, braking and vision skills. I was amazed how much better my corners became after concentrating on looking up the stretch of road past the corner ...instead of the corner line itself. Woot !!
I DO need to work on my downshifting into the corners though. I was repeatedly shifting down too close to the corner... not giving it enough revs. The result was the rear end would slide out while taking the corner. It was predictible though .... so it was really fun. I felt like one of those old-time dirt tracker riders... sliding through the corners. I had a blast but realize that my technique sucks... but I am getting really good at controlling it when it goes a little squirrely.
I can't wait to go again !!
