Hi, I've got a few specific questions about repacking a can, and I can't find that info on here or google. So I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers...
My exhaust is annoyingly loud, and I am hoping by repacking, the noise level will reduce somewhat. I want to do this myself, as it doesn't sound too technically difficult. My questions are:
1. I've seen loose packing material on eBay in 200 g bags. Is 200 g enough to pack an exhaust?
2. Is the loose packing material better? or the sheets better?
3. I've seen one 'how-to' discussion about packing steel wool first, then fiberglass sheets over the steel wool. Is that necessary? Or would fiberglass sheets itself be enough?
4. Someone told me to use stainless steel wires to wrap around the packing material, then slip the can back in. But some threads talked about using just scotch tape. What's the best way to do it? Wouldn't scotch tape burn up?
