I figured I'll share a bit of a revelation I had yesterday:
I went downtown with my girl, we took the skytrain.
-now, I'm not sure what born Canadians think abut the Train, but when I first came to Vancouver, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
Where I come from, we had stinky diesel busses and Tramswhich occasionally liked to catch on fire.
Nowadays they have really nice trams and busses that run on natural gas, but the quality of ride is still nowhere near as nice as the Sky train.
Back to the point:
Is it me, or do average canadians see public transport as 'poor people' way to travel, to get to work?
Because I was loking around the train and here's what I saw:
3 credit counceling ads, a Salvation army ad and 2 job training ads.
I'm guessing that the companies which place these ads do marketing studies before they place them, so there must be something in it.
I love the Sky Train-it's the coolest way to get to work in my book-what do you think?
