Just saw the posting at Roadracingworld.com and was pretty shocked. Older racers and veterans of the sport will easily remember Michel Mercier as a fiery aggressive former Canadian Superbike Champion. His young son Max, 18yrs old died yesterday racing at Shannonville when he crashed his 600 and hit a bare wall. I used to watch this kid ride a little pitbike around when he was young, then as a junior motocrosser he had much success. He had his dad's talent for keeping it all together when it seemed like he was going to crash for certain. Reminds me Of the Haskovec event, and how unfortunate we still remain in the area of circuit safety in our sport.
