<40kph on tight Spanish Banks corner at east end; fine sand sprinkled evenly in middle, never saw it, but I felt it under me as I got up (it just started raining but the road was pretty dry).
Happened very quick; bike slid through other lane into gravel shoulder, but I barely slid. Cagers stopped to see if I was OK. Lucky; got up and rode away with bent rear brake lever, slightly bent front lever, turn signal hanging on.
Just before, I put 28/32 psi in, maybe gas station gauge read low. It felt very hard after the gas station. Could softer pressures have aided me in my bungling newbie sojourn?
Thanks for help and tape from Julia, attention from all the people at the Swan. Hope nobody noticed my fly was open, 'cause no underwear.
Oh yeah, I learned that if you ride around with clear tape over your lights, you get to keep all the pieces in a low speed wipe.
