As promised, some pics from the Vaterland.
Nothing better to start a riding day, than pretzels taken fresh out of the oven, with coffee, at a bakery on the side of the river Main.

Then we ride up towards Pfalz, through the mountains after a "spirited" ride on the Autobahn, on the way to Johannis Kreuz - known to be the main stop for all riders in south-west Germany (Baden-Wuerttemberg). The road leading there is unbelievable, with absolutely unreal pavement - dark, grippy, without a single pothole.
What, in the words of my friend, is an empty parking lot - compared to earlier in the day, when it is apparently more than packed (we got there at about 1700 hrs):
The next day, we head out to the Black Forrest, and the amazing twisties there, not to mention the sights. Come lunch time, we stop at one of the many rest-stops, as many others:
