Is it any of our business if you know of a bike being sold that has been crashed heavily and repaired, to notify the sportbike community?
I see it as it is our business, especially if you think the bike is unsafe to ride, and/or the seller is asking way to much for it and not being honest about the bikes history.
With that, here you are: http://www.islandriders.ca/forum/sho...3588#post13588
This thread is from another forum. The bike in question was crashed in a parking lot and suffered alot of damage. It was not reported ICBC, as the matter was handled privately. The rider who crashed the bike was not the owner, and had to buy the bike off of the owner. The rider then sold the bike for an undisclosed amount of money in the crashed condition, but failed to tell the new buyer that the tranny was also blown. ICBC would have written-off the bike had it been claimed. Rebuilding the bike, the new owner is selling the bike for $6000.
The only reason I ask, is because in that thread on that forum, myself and another rider questioned the seller if it was in fact it was the same crashed bike; the seller and her husband being moderators of that forum, deleted 3 posts regarding to the state of the bike. Sounds like someone is trying to cover up the real history.
I was asked if I knew anything about the bike by a mainland rider, and told that person what I knew. This person was told by the seller that the bike had only been dropped only suffering fairing damage. I did NOT mentioned publicly on that forum after the seller posted the bike for sale, the state of the bike as I knew it, I just asked an obvious question. I knew the history as I used to ride religiously with the original owner before the bike was crashed, and I also know the rider who crashed it.
I then received and private message from the sellers husband in regards to my posts about that being the same crashed bike: You know what, this bike has nothing to fucking to do with you, so you do NOT need to post shit to keep people from being interested in it. EVERYTHING has been fixed on it, there is NOTHING wrong with it. You are posting solely to prevent us from selling it, to whatever reasons you have I don't fucking know. Leave it alone. You have already told too many people personally not to buy it, and there is nothing wrong with it.
In short...fuck off.
That response says it all in my opinion.
Was that wrong of me and another rider to question the bikes condition or previous condition, considering a friend of mine was interested in buying it?
