Bike died again while out for a ride last night.....
I had this problem before: first problem
The final result of the bike dying was a dead battery. Anyway, I just want to get your thoughts on what might have happened this time around.
During the last few minutes of the ride, the bike was "cutting-out" while under accelleration. Something that didn't happen before. I was able to flag down a BCAA truck passing by and he jumped the bike for me. The bike stayed running even after he removed the jumper cables and didn't seem to have any electrical issues during idle. The previous time the bike died, the bike wouldn't run once the jumper cables were disconnected.
the BCAA tech checked the batteries volts and it was down to ~9.5V so i disconnected one of my headlights for the quick 2km ride home. It increased it to ~10.25V.
I was able to make it home ok. But after I shut it off and tried to restart the bike....... nothing. The battery didn't have enough to start the bike.
OK... so in my vague story above, I'm not sure there isn't anything exact you guys could tell to fix, but any help again would be great.
Side note: The bike was running smoothly since the last problem, but I was just away for 3 weeks and the bike just sat during that time.
Things I gotta do:
1 - check battery
2 - check charging system (I should have my Clymer within a couple of days)
3 - take it to a shop to get it checked if I can't find the problem. (i gotta go anyway to get a head bearing replaced).
