So ya, that was a rough start to my day.
My buddy on his new 999 and me on my gixxer head out from my place and around 1km from my house there is this INSANE bulldog that has been chasing cars and bikes like a nut for the past few years. We, amongst other people, have complained and the owners have kept it in the backyard for the past year so there have been no incidents. (I have stuck my leg out in the past and kicked it when it tried to attack me the last time)... anyways, this time it got out and was in the neighbors front yard when it heard us coming... lucky for my buddy he was in front by 2 car lengths so he was able to just miss the dog (he came close to crashing his brand new bike)... and the dog turned and just went straight to kill me. There was nothing I could do. Hard braking and I tried to out maneuver him, but he got me (or I got him you could say). I hit him and killed him on impact and that sent me down hard on my right side. I tried so hard to stay up but in the end nothing would have helped... Slid down the road... nuff said
Damage report = scraped yoshi can (I will be shortening it now like the 05 cans), busted attack rearset footpeg and brake lever, destroyed the mirror, THANK GOD FOR FRAME SLIDERS!!! that slider took the rest. There is minor rashing on the tail and side, but I have been planning a new paintjob for a while so I am not upset about that. The bike started up and I was able to ride for the rest of the day using the rear passenger peg for my right leg.
My Icon jacket saved my upper and gloves, but my new jeans :squid: got wrecked and my knee and hip are a bit rashed up (the rest of me is just sore all over now) I would have worn better pants but we were just going for a light ride...
As soon as I was able to get to my feet after lying there for a bit I walked over and put my jacket over the dog... Then my buddy went to get the owner as other people started to come out to see what happened. In the end he was very cool about it as he said the dog had problems.... so I guess he had it coming. He offered to help me fix my bike, but I couldn't do that... his kids were traumatized and his wife was sad so that was enough to deal with. We all lose here so I will deal with my own misfortune. I will not be claiming anything on insurance as I will just fix it myself as I always do...
Well, that's it. Bike comes apart tomorrow for some rebuilding. In the end I am glad that I was the one that got it cuz I could only imagine the damage that would have happened to my buddies 05 Ducati 999 (no frame sliders) if he was in the back!
Now does anyone know where I can order just the right footpeg and the brake lever for Attack-Rearsets??? any info would be greatly appreciated so I can get this bike back on the road.
