My bike has been running hot since I installed a Flexi-glass belly pan and water wetter. I'm going to be wrapping my headers to quiet things down and hopeing that will help with the heat problems (bike gets up to 109-112 getting back to the pits). I followed the recommended mix from redline but it runs hotter than when I had anti freeze.
So, I'm wondering, will lining my fairings help the heat problem? I also had the idea to get this thing quieter of sealing the gap between the frame and the fairing with some tape to get it a little quieter.
I'm also wrapping the intake tubes with sound deadening, reinstalling the tube covers that are now also lined and makeing a better seal where the tubes go into the frame. I have also thought of using tape to seal the gap between the tank and the frame as well.
I'm trying to get the bike as quiet as possible, but I don't want it to heat up.
Any thoughts if the above mods will make it run hotter?
Any suggestions on sound proofing near the head? I know that the newer cars with the valve cover beauty cover seem to have a lot less noise come off the valve train (integra vs. RSX from experience) is there any risk some insulating material near the head?
I just want to get this thing as quiet as possible, especially at the prospect of a quietest bike prize
Anyone else with any other sound suggestions? I attached the Steve Dick/Allen Beck article for other suggestions.
