Here's the play by play...
The road trip down, Part 1:
Started off riding down to Seattle to meet my pal Drat and proceeded down boring a$$ I-5 to Portland, gathered Drat's camera charger that he forgot at home and then zipped over to the 101 until we reached Lincoln City, Oregon and found a motel on the beach for the evening.
It was July 4th and the folks in that area take Independence Day really frickin' seriously. Hundreds of families were camped out on the beach with crates and crates of fireworks and all night we were treated to thousands of rounds of Roman Candles...
This was the view from our motel room's balcony. This went on from about 9pm to 3am. We must have witnessed $100,000 worth of fireworks go off in the hands of people on the beach.
The next morning we conquored the rest of the Oregon coast and on through Northern California. Lots of foggy areas. Here we are riding into Narnia. That's where the wizards live.
Drat and I pause on the 101 to pay respects at the crash site of where Drat's friend Manuel died 4 years ago. He ran into the side of a Goldwing trike on his R1. The Goldwing pulled a U-turn in front of him.
Drat lays a cross on the spot where it happened.
