I came to Vancouver Yamaha to check out there prices in gear bcus I am planning to attend pro ride motorcycle school. I came in the store; the dude behind the counter was looking at me but didn’t acknowledge me. Salesman passed me by and ignores me, I was prepared to spend $2000 dollars in gear but since those ignorant sluts @ Vancouver Yamaha didn’t want my money I am taking it to RMS. On my way out there were these young people.. About the same age as me (25-27). They where looking at a 2006 Virago 250. I over heard them saying that it was the bike that she really wanted and wants it now! The young ladies boyfriend finally got a salesman and this was there conversation…….
Salesman: how may I help you?
Buyer: well I am looking at this bike, before I buy it can I test ride it?
Salesman: ahh you can’t! We do not test rides after 6 pm
Buyer: well I talked to someone earlier and said that I could come here around this time and test ride it.
Salesman: like I said we can’t do it
Buyer: well it says your store hours are till 8 pm?
Salesman: yes we remain open till 8 pm but we can not do test rides after 6 pm.
Buyer: so how am I supposed to buy it if I don’t know what it’s all about?
Salesman: can you just come back tomorrow?
Buyer: what? I can’t come back! I live in Whistler. I have spoken to someone this morning and they said that they could help me get on a bike today. Blah blah blah (couldn’t hear the rest)
Salesman: you can buy the bike today, is just that we can’t go for a test ride..
Buyer: (talking to each other) well this is the bike you wanted right?
Buyer: (talking to each other) yeah
Buyer: (talking to each other) fine
Buyer: Okay I will buy it now. Can I pay with visa?
Salesman: No, cash or certified check only
Buyer: why not?
Salesman: if you really want to paid buy visa I have to charge you 4% on top of the price.
Buyer: well is there I bank near by?
Salesman: (couldn’t hear what the fool said)
Buyer’s friend: what about debit card?
Salesman: yeah that’s good. (salesman left to process the sale)
Buyer’s friend: wow we came all the way from Whistler to deal with this jerk?
Buyer’s boyfriend: we don’t have a choice we are already here; well do you have enough money in your account?
Buyer: yeah I do have enough money..
Then I left……………
As an experience salesman I would have done anything to make my buyer happy. I am pretty sure there are a few guys at the back picking there asses, and if I was the salesman I would have got one of the mechanics to go for a quick test ride with her. She was ready to purchase the bike at full pop, he could have discounted the 4% on the price of the bike, plus im pretty sure she needs gear too. Anyways I just wanted to share my experience with Vancouver Yamaha. And I hope the management (if they care) looks in to this.
