I am the liquor
If anyone here is a pilot, I am looking to finish my private license and am wondering what the good schools are close to Van.
I have 60 hours under my belt and need to do the tests for the private. The last time I flew was at Pitt five years ago. I heard Boundary Bay schools are pretty good.
Any advice about the quality/prices of the schools would be much apreciated!

Professional VFR at Boundary Bay. Francois Leh, the chief instructor there, will set you up with one of their excellent instructors. Francois taught me when I learned about 10 years ago. Professional is also the only school with a taildragger on the flight line. If you haven't been checked out in one, do it, it will make a huge difference in your proficiency.
Oh, and the prices are really secondary. I haven't a clue what Pro charges relative to any other schools, but I do know that they're all within a few dollars of one another per hour. Really, you're better off finding a school you like with people/instructors you like and sticking with it, than trying to find the best prices... You really do get what you pay for.
All the instruction, plane rental, gas, exams, license, etc, etc. Total cost: $1200.
You need a time machine to take you back to 1976!
Sorry, I'm an ass! My school was at YVR, my dad signed me up on my 17th birthday. I couldn't rent a car or buy a beer, I couldn't even get my baby face into an R-rated movie. But I could solo in a brand new Piper Cherokee, taking off and landing between the jumbos. Damn, that was a big deal for a young kid.
Ennis call Pete ASAP he's one to talk to on this for sure being that he's a PILOT and all lol.Give me a ring if you need his number.
