I'm riding in the pride parade on Sunday. For those who don't watch, the dykes on bikes basically ride up & down the parade route for two hours at low speeds -- the speed limit set out by the organizers is 30kph, anyone going faster or being an idiot will be asked to leave. No problem, I can understand that... I've marched in the parade before and people dash out in front of you all the time. Silly pedestrians.
My concern is for my bike. I ride a '92 Ninja in pretty good condition for a 13 year old bike with 60k on it, but the bike gets a little hotter than I would prefer when stuck in heavy traffic. I have the mechanical skills of a gnat, so I'm not entirely sure the best method for ensuring that my bike stays as cool as possible and running smoothly.
So... any suggestions for how I can keep my baby happy for over two hours of low speed riding?
