For anyone that has between 3
days to 1 week off.
This trip is very open Destinations per day of travel. I ride a sport bike and have done variations of this route and am used to doing distances like Victoria to Portland in one day. I'm happy to play it by ear for anyone who might be interested to come. It's to be a memorable trip of the year for anyone!
Destination: -Day 1: Victoria, BC over to Port Angeles, US to end up in Carson, US through Mt St. Helens. This ride will follow the 101 down the east coast untill Skokomish then detour through side roads down to Longview. Down to Woodland via side roads beside the I5 to head east into St. Helens and down to Carson for a stay.
-Day 2: Carson, to Wenatchee via St. Helens and Rainier. Through St. Helens to Randal, through Mt Rainier taking route 12 or 410(will decide when we get there) to Naches. Back roads to route 823, 821, 97 and then cut across at Blewett Pass to Wenatchee.
-Day 3: For those going back home you have a couple options.Stevens Pass with little back roads, Cascade route following routes 97 & 153 to route 20(Cascades), highly recommended, back to Canada.
-Day 3 Continuation: Wenatchee, US to Castlegar, BC. This route starts from East Wenatchee backroad to route 2 to Wilbur. In Creston there is a back road to a place called Miles at route 25. This route follows Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake all the way into Castlegar. My godfather lives in Castlegar and depending on who comes with me, it may be a free place to sleep (limited accomidations) or a place to set up a tent for the night if required.
-Day 4: For those going back home you again have a few great rides through the Kootneys you can take, I leave those up to you or we can discuss them at a later time.
-Day 4 Continuation: Castlegar to Calgary via Kootney and Banff National Park. Routes 3A including Balfour Ferry, 3, 95, 93 and a little of Hwy 1 to Canmore over to route 1A into Calgary. Again I have loads of friends in Calgary that would be open to guests and tents in the yard if required.
-Day 5: Now this part may suck for some or you can go a head a ride the remaining routes below. I might have to stay in Calgary for 3 days, but by all means feel free to continue without me.
Calgary to Nakusp via Banff, Glacier and Mt Revelstoke National Parks. Route 1A out of Calgary to Canmore, route 93 to Lake Louis and Hwy 1 to Revelstoke. Route 23 to Galena Bay ferry and into Nakusp. Nakusp has a hot spring that I recommend going to and is a beautiful place to stay. Some may want to continue to the Okanagan as well this day.
-Day 6: Nakusp to Kelowna (short ride). Route 6 to Needles ferry. Once off Needles ferry it's an awesome twisty climb from the lake into Monashee Pass and then into Vernon and down to Kelowna via backside of Okanagan Lake. Now you can also go right into Vancouver this day if your time is running out. You have the Princeton to Hope route, you have the Okanagan Connector to Merrit to route 8 Spences Bridge Lytton route 1 south past Harrison Hot Springs and the back roads into Mission etc.
I have to stay in Kelowna for a few days again so again continue without me.
And that's the adventure! Contact me if your interested...
