I know this is a motorcycle forum but since many of us drive cages as well I thought I'd ask your opinion. I just bought my first "new" car (only bought used up till now) and was wondering about the add-ons like clear coat, under-coat, scotch-guard, etc. My dealership is offering/pushing these along with rust-proofing (not really necessary on the west coast) for $688 ($200 separately). Is this stuff worth the money? Doesn't waxing your car a 2-3 times a year protect the finish? They said the undercoat not only protects the underside, it makes the ride quieter. Any experience with that? Is dealership scotch-guard any better the stuff you buy in a can? Any of you know any good websites for new car buyers?
No point spending even more $ than I already have. Any advice would be appreciated.
