This weekend about 35 KM north of pemberton on the road to darcy ( go straight insted of turning onto the duffy loop) both of my ride partners crashed.
I was lead, allready through the turn when they went down.
Decreasing radius left with a sharp uphill mid turn, lots of fun normally.
Katana Jeff was number 2, hit a rough spot and his 91 kat 6 walked its ass over and hw went wide right into the ditch at 120 Kmph. The resulting cart wheels and flips and flinging rider and dirt storm blocked the road.
rider 3 couldnt see anything. couldnt see the down rider, the bike or the rest of the corner so he stood the bike up, grabbed a mitt full of brake and pointed his 99 R6 at the only thing he could see for sure-the part of the ditch BEFORE the accident and rode right off the road.
Rider 3 hit the ditch insted of riding it out and maybe crushing rider 2 in the process.
both riders are fine: Katana Jeff has some impact bruising on his abdomen and some cuts/bruise/bumps on his shins.
we push the two bikes out of the ditch: 3 foot drop into gravel and sand
and over to a driveway. the katana is thrashed, front end completely destroyed, the left fairings ripped right off. the nose is collapsed, we couldnt turn the bars.
the R6 is ok, all right side fairings are scrapped but intact, and the pipe is all scrapped.
AND on to the title:
the person who pulls over to help is the owner of the local Suzuki/Yamaha Quad store.
the kat starts right up, but isnt drivable, the R6 looks fine but we cant get it to turn over. Lincon helps strip the R6 right down to the carbs and does something to them i dont understand and gets it running.
He also uses a tow ball bar to bend out the kats nose so we can turn the bars, takes it for a run and even fixes its allignment right on the side of the road
our cells didnt work, and we werent set up to start 2-upping. if Lincon hadnt set us straight it would of been some suck ass and lots of .
insted, we slept in the pemberton hotel and did the rest of the loop smashed-ass bikes and all the next morning.
so thanx again Lincon, if you see this. and if anyone wants a quad or birt bike, give this man a call. he deserves a little bit of karma.
