Hey there, I just bought a '93 GSX-R and I don't have the manual (24hrs left in a download.... less than 1k/ sec ) and therefor cannot read it right now. But what am I looking at for service intervals ? Valves, carb cleaning etc.... I'm kind of in the dark on this. Any help is much appreciated, and sorry if this gets repeated every day.
It's at about 48k currently, should I be looking at anything soon ??
There are slight differences between most bikes but as a rule of thumb carbs are synced (sp?) every approx 5000K and valves are adjusted every 10000K.
In regards to the manual you might want to try and get your hands on an original shop manual for your bike or an aftermarket manual such as a Clymer or Haynes. Most part shops should have them. I have heard that the Clymer is better than the Haynes (thats what they say). It will probably cost you 50 bucks but if you are planning on keeping the bike it will be worth it because because it will give you a lot of other maintenance info such as chain, brakes, clutch, suspension etc... You can always wait for the download if you have time.
