Looking for anyone who can help weld an aluinum block on a 954RR.
As I told the cops 'The rear end just came out from underneath me'
Any Hoo I have busted engine block on the pipe side. The clutch cover took a good smack on the road. The two bottom cover bolts got smushed and twisted. Under each bolt hole are hair line cracks. Also the threads are beat out of the 2 bolt wholes.
My initial thoughts were JB weld the bolt holes and drill them out and re-thread the whole's. Of course that is not the answer as people have metioned that once the aluminum block gets hot it will expand and the JB weld will fall out.
Ok so then I ask the question 'How do I get the block welded and How much will it cost?' Wow that was a dumb question.
Of course I have to take the motor out to do that ???
Of course it is going to cost 600-700 to get it done after 'I' pull the motor out myself????
So I ask is there a better way? Can the block be welded without dismantiling the bike as a 954's sub-frame is the motor ( big job ) ???
Any suggestions are welcome...
