Thread: Jetting

  1. #1

Hi, I just installed a D&D Drag Pack (4 in 2 in 1 straigh exhaust, no baffle) on my ZX9r with a K&N air filter. What jetting should I go for? The bike seems to run really lean to...temperature seems higher but not on the gage. But since I dropped down the exhaust back pressure drastically, I'm a bit concern about melting my pistons and exhaust valves...any opinions?

It won't melt but it'll run like poo.

Not sure about the 99 9R's but the 2000 and newer all want to move from (outer cylinders/inner cylinders)165/170 to 180/185. With your changes you probably need to make a 15 point jump as well from whatever is stock.
A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
