What racing at Mission could have been

    EXTINCT

So I was talking to a buddy of mine who races in Ontario (Shannonville mostly) and was telling him about our stock exhaust requirement for Mission.

Here's what he had to say:

"one track we raced at (Cayuga) was shut down basically permanently due to noise complaints that were never successfully resolved (despite the fact the track is still permitted to hold drag races, motorcycles were deemed to be too loud. funny thing is they run everything there, including jet cars)"

Crazy eh? Thanks to Al Beck for stepping up and doing what it took to keep us from becoming another Cayuga.

Yeah, thanks to Al & the other club members who stepped up to the plate.

Thanks to the racers that made the changes.

    Thanks so much Al!!!!!

And thanks to all of the racers that did make the changes, even though we all like to complain about the mods to the bikes, we still did it. As far as I am concerned I am having just as much fun out there as I was before the mods to the bike.

Yep, thanks. The harsh reality is if we lose the track, loud mufflers won't mean a thing.

Al is the man. Now we just have to do something about those noisy motards.

    HEY! I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK!

I'm looking into the idea of a mufflerectomy to either transplant something over from a street bike or perhaps feed the output from the stocker into a second can on the left side. Either way I've got all winter to play.

Not so crazy. Too bad Al had to take it on the chin from some thick chimps. Good thing he kept up the fight. It's kind of sick, the stance has been " we're lucky they let us in the gate " since day one, but a few retards just don't get it. Natural selection takes too long.
    Al =
p.s. after 20 + years of being at the track, the quiet was kind of nice!

Well, I'm just happy to be out racing. Mission is at least somewhat affordable, if I had to go to the states I just wouldn't be able to race, PERIOD.

That is the reality of my situation, and I think others are the same. I think stock exhaust tends to level the playing field to a degree in that if you don't have the extra $2,000 to spend on a full ti system, you aren't any worse off than buddy on the same bike next to you does.

Bernie, I have to agree with ya. I haven't been at the track for 20 years, but I kinda like the quieter (is that a word?) bikes when sitting in the stands watching the races. I don't like wearing earplugs (far too violating) so the quieter (again, is that a word?) bikes are nice.

Full Ti? Damn - That won't even make a good boat anchor!

Hey Colin, I don't think I got a chance to thank you for showing me the line through turn 4 after it got oiled. I was one of the leaf/oil sweepers that morning.
