FNG questions: wr 450
Have been away from Street bikes for about 10 years and dirt bikes for about 15 years but the urge and the finances are back.
Was in bike shop and an 05 wr 450 with the street legal kit caught my eye. The big bore street bike thing doesnt appeal anymore, a streetable performance dirtbike has me thinking,
Not sure if I would kit it up for full on super moto right off, but that leads to a few questions
a) wr 450 as a super moto type bike, a decent choice?
b) motor lifespan of wr 450 if used for street purposes? doesnt seem to have the limited oil capacity of the crf 450.
c) Oil changes how often in miles/hrs?
d) Gearing reccomendations , ie how many teeth down on the rear?
e) Maintenance issues with pavement use?
f) Tire reccomendations with stocker rims and around town pavement use in mind?
g) Are there any front brake setups rim-hub assemblies that can be scabbed on off an existing yamaha streetbike from a bent bike shop should I go the cheapskate route to a super moto setup.
h) Insurance costs Vancouver area, Any hassles/ things to know when dealing with ICBC/insurance broker?
I hope I am not asking questions covered in other threads
apologies in advance if I have
