WMRC has extended an invitation to the Lookout Society, which is a non-profit society that helps mentally and physically disabled people. They operate 10 buildings that offer assisted care, and one drop in center in the heart of the Downtown Eastside, please visit their website Lookout Society for more information. Their activity worker Susan will likely be bringing a group of people out to catch all the action and watch the races this weekend. As always please extend your warmest welcome to our guests; pictures with racers in the pits, and signed posters etc. go over very well with visitors at the races.
Kids Up Front Foundation:
WMRC has also extended an invitation to Kids Up Front Foundation, which is a charitable organization that helps provide opportunities for kids and their families to attend quality entertainment and educational events. Please visit their website for more information Kids Up Front Again, please extend your warmest welcome to our guests @ Mission Raceway this weekend.
West Coast Superbike School - Track Daze (Friday Sept. 9th):
On behalf of Troy Burstyk & Gio Acchione the WMRC would like to remind everyone about their last "Track Daze" event of the year. This event is open to all street riders and racers so come on out and carve some turns. For riders without a race license the cost is $150.00 plus GST, for racers with a license the cost is $100.00 plus GST. Gates are open @ 7:00 am and track time will run until approx. 4:30 pm. All bikes must be in a good state of repair with decent tires. We our saddled with a noise issue so we require all bikes to either have a stock exhaust system, or, we will need to install a noise damping plug (cost is $25) in any aftermarket exhaust. Minimum gear requirements are full leathers or heavier type textiles (no jeans!) with a newer full face helmet and decent motorcycle gloves and boots. For the racers we will have the DBcom timing system running for your lap times. There will be instruction available to riders new to the track or who would like some help. We are also looking at bringing in a mobile Starbucks. (is this actually true Troy??? Man I love it!!!!!) For more information please call Troy Burstyk @ 778-863-0563 or visit West Coast Superbike School
If you or anyone you know wants to volunteer on Friday, Saturday or Sunday for corner marshalling or other various positions please arrive at 7:30 a.m. As you all know the WMRC is a non-profit club run completely by volunteers and we need help to ensure our events run smoothly. Volunteers will receive free training, free lunch and get to watch the races from the best seats in the house!!!
That's all for now - hope to see you all this weekend! Thanks so much, take good care.
