Ok, something weird happenned today and I have bad feelings it will continue. I was out of the country for 3 weeks and got back yesterday. It was kind of a rush trip so I didn't have time to take out the battery and trickle charge it. Bike was kept in my friends garage. I came back and the battery was absolutely dead (he kept the alarm on I think) so I boosted it with his car (properly, no engine running). Bike started up pretty soon, carbs weren't too bad and I rode it around for only 10 minutes before shutting it down. Bike didn't start again, but still the starter turned abit. So this time we bump started it and I rode it home for a nice long 45 minute rip, mainly highway so the battery was good an charged. This morning it started (a few stops and starts around town) up no problems at all. This afternoon I started it and as the bike was warming up (50 degrees) and as I was shifting from 1st to 2nd (clutch in) the tach dropped without warning. I had released the clutch already so I think the bike must have just roll started to start up again. It acted fine through the rest of the gears and at the next set of lights. At the 3rd set of lights as I was taking off again between 1st and 2nd the tach just died for a sec and came back on, as I neared the top of the hill I held the clutch in and the bike died. I rolled into a gas station and released the clutch to roll start it up again. It did start. I then braked to a stop and the bike shut off by itself. I swore and hit the starter and it fired up right away. I revved it hard abit and then came home, about 5 mins away with no problems. This si the first time it happenned. The only other maybe relevant fact is about a month ago, the battery did seem to be abit weaker then normal. The starter was turning slower than previously. I was pondering the possibility that it was the kickstand safety switch, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.
