I've got a 2002 ZR7S and want to replace the stock muffler, for sound, weight and performance.
I know there are many posts about exhaust, almost too much, so I'm going to ask some specific questions before making a decision.
Carbon vs. Titanium
-Carbon is lighter, but is it as durable?
-Has anyone had a carbon slip-on fall apart or become damaged during repacking?
-Is the sound different?
I want a more racey sound but don't want to go deaf or anger the locals.
-Out of these, which is the most quiet? (if anyone has compared)
-Are there any reasons that screw or bolt-on end caps are not as good as rivets?
So far the bike is stock, but I will be removing the EGR (exhaust gas reburn) valve.
-With the EGR gone, and a slip-on added, will I need to re-jet or re-tune the carbs for riding at sea level-1000ft range on the west coast?
-Are there any reasons to avoid one of the four brands mentioned above? Why?
-Are there any resources as recommended reading before deciding on my purchase?
Lot's of questions, I know. Answers to any would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
